1. Corbett National Park: Located in Uttarakhand, Corbett is Asia’s and India’s first and most popular national park. It’s known worldwide for Bengal tigers, sloth bear, otters, and hog deer. The park is also a shelter to 50 mammals’ species, 480 plant species, 580 bird species, and 25 reptile species. Corbett has five zones, but the only zone that’s open all year round is Jhirna. The other four zones, though, are closed during the monsoon.
2. Kaziranga National Park: Located on the banks of Brahmaputra River, Kaziranga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park possesses two-thirds of the world’s one-horned rhinos. It’s also widely famous for wild water buffalos, royal Bengal tigers, reticulated pythons and Ganges dolphins. The park is home to 15 threatened mammalian species and it’s also recognized as An Important Bird Area by Birdlife International.
3. Periyar National Park: This famous tiger and elephant reserve is situated in Kerala. It’s a wildlife destination that is incredibly famous. This sanctuary is extremely rich in flora, fauna and avifauna whose charm you can enjoy best at a boat ride on Periyar Lake.
4. Sundarbans National Park: Located in West Bengal, Sundarbans National Park is recognized as a Biosphere Reserve and UNESCO World Heritage site. It’s a majestic one-of-a-kind mangrove jungle that’s only accessible by boat. It’s the only mangrove forest inhabited by tigers. The park is also a home to many endangered species like saltwater crocodile, Gangetic dolphin, sawfish, Olive Ridley turtle, and various kinds of reptiles. King cobras, Pythons, Russell’s vipers, and rat snakes are some of reptiles commonly found here.
5. Ranthambore National Park: Ranthambore is a marvelous combination of history and nature. Located in Rajasthan, Ranthambore is considered one of the best places to spot tigers. Also, inside the bark, there’s an enormous fort built in the 10th century and was sought after ever since by many rulers due to its strategic location. The bark is home to various collections of flora and fauna such as the leopard, chital, hyena, peacocks, banyan trees, just to name a few.
