Snobs think their clothes, jobs and generally everything about them are better than yours. Nothing can be more annoying than spending time with a snob who looks down on you because he thinks your way of life and your views are inferior to his.
When dealing with snobby people, you better maintain your confidence and do not let them get to you. Here are some ways to help you cope, if the person is unbearable:
• The worst thing to do is to compete with them and go down to their level; when it comes to snobs, the best approach is not to fight fire with fire. When a snobby person in your circle keeps talking about his fancy vacation to Italy, you are not recommended to indicate that you have been there as well or that you prefer France.
This will make the snobby person more determined to show that his way of life is much more superior to yours. Hear the person out without showing that you are also pretty cool in some other way. It is not worth it to out- snob the snobs; you will make yourself look bad and alienate the non- snobs around you.
• Sometimes, the best thing to do when you meet a snob is to smile and salute him with kindness. Though it is hard to be nice to a snobby person, but he may be taken aback by your kindness which he is not used to and may surprise you by being kind back.
If being nice does not yield a good result, you can at least say you have tried everything. Do not let a snob make you doubt yourself or waver in your ideas; he likes best to make you feel terrible about yourself or you do not know anything.
