Are you in the middle of your twenty something years? Well, it is granted that you are not an old person yet, but you are indeed an “adult” according to everyone. As an adult, you are expected to live your life in a certain way and to follow certain rules. For example, there are some things you should no longer do once you hit your mid twenties, such as:
- Looking for whatever is cheap to buy and wear. By now, you should have already realized the value of the golden rule, “you get what you pay for”. So, buy nicely tailored pieces of good materials for different occasions. Whether you are a woman or a man, make sure to accessorize your clothes in a decent presentable manner that suits where you go.
- Dating someone whom you do not like or who is not really suitable for you. By reaching your mid-twenties, you must have already figured out what kind of person you are, and what kind of people do you want to be with. Maybe you are not even close to being ready for long term commitments, but this doesn’t mean wearing out your mind and body in fruitless and meaningless relationships.
- Giving much thought and attention to what people want and think. Well, I am not telling you to be a total ass acting in whatever way you want no matter how much it annoys others! What I am telling you is: stop pressuring yourself to be something you are not in the hope that others will like you. It wont work and you will be just wasting time and energy.
- Saying that everything is your parents’ fault. You parents may have committed a number of mistakes that have affected your life negatively. However, by the time you hit your mid-twenties, you must have realized already that your parents are human beings who commit mistakes, and that you are now a grownup who can take matters into his/her own hands.
- “Winging” it when it comes to your finances and expenses. Since you are a grown up in their mid-twenties, you must have gotten a job and tried to live on your own by now. So, you already understand what “setting a budget is”. Make some sort of plan in which you set your expenses, salary and savings.
