7 Foods You Need to Avoid to Prevent Inflammation
Inflammation is a medical condition that can lead to damaging your tissues, hypertension and even enhancing cancer cells. There are some foods that are rich with the chemicals that might lead to inflammation, such as:
1- partially-hydrogenated acids can increase inflammatory biomarkers in the body. The foods that contain partially hydrogenated acids are many, but the ones people usually use are margarine and fake butters. It is better to use butter or clarified butter instead.
2- Some types of vegetable oil are rich with omega 6 fatty acids which are the main reason for inflammation, such as soy, corn, sunflower, safflower and cottonseed oil. Instead, use coconut oil, or canola oil.
3- Meats with high fat content can cause inflammation as well, such as bacon, burgers, hot dogs, bologna or ribs. So, instead of beef or ham as a source for protein, go for fish, chicken or legumes.
4- Fat in milk is loaded with omega 6 fatty acids as well. Even 2% fat milk is considered rich in omega 6 that can lead to inflammation. So use non fat milk instead.
5- I know that everyone likes cream cheese (what’s not to like?) and how would you go on in life without cream cheese on your bagel or a piece of cheese cake now and then. However it is seriously loaded with omega 6 fatty acids so use part-skim ricotta or goat cheese instead.
6- Higher levels of sugar cause inflammation as well as a long list of other problems and health risks for almost every part of your body. So try to control your sweet tooth more.
7- Fro-yo or frozen yogurt has two things that can cause inflammation: sugar and fat. So instead of store bought frozen yogurt, you can eat low or non fat yogurt and sweeten it with some honey and fruits instead.
